Search continues for man missing from yacht near Arran

An air and sea search for a man feared missing overboard from a yacht which was found in Kilbrannan Sound near Arran has resumed.

Clyde Coastguard said the fishing vessel Scotia Star found the yacht in Kilbrannan Sound on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th January.

The vessel was towed to harbour and an air, sea and shoreline search was launched involving a Navy helicopter from Prestwick, coastguard and lifeboat teams.

No sign of the man was found and the search was suspended overnight.
