This is a new kind of community news site. Traditionally, journalists decide what the news is and how to tell it to you - on this site, you decide what the stories are, and tell them the way you want to.
In fact, you get the best of both worlds, because s1 is part of Herald & Times Group so there's a team of professional journalists on hand to help out and keep things clear. But most of the time they won't interfere - s1arran.com is for the people of Arran, by the people of Arran.
